Cricinfo Relocates Its Global HQ To Bangalore; Plans Acquisitions

World’s largest cricket website Cricinfo has shifted its global headquarters from London to Bangalore. Top Cricinfo officials including CEO Tom Gleeson have relocated to Bangalore. The group says it underscores the strategic importance it is placing on India as an important growth engine for the company. My sense is it may have more to do with the costs than cricket. The Bangalore HQ facility were inaugurated by Mark Getty, director Wisden Group, and co-founder and chairman Cricinfo, and John Brown, Chairman of the Wisden Group.

Cricinfo wants to use Bangalore as its centre more innovations and product development like growing online, print and mobile platforms. The company is also looking at making acquisitions in India. [Via The Economic Times]
